Rupert Grint Celebrates 27th Birthday On August 24, 2015

Happy Birthday Rupert Grint

Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint aka Rupert Grint or Ron Weasley as many Harry Potter fans know him was born on August 24th, 1988 in Harlow, Essex, England. His mother Joanne Grint is a housewife while his father Nigel Grint is a memorabilia dealer. Grint is the eldest of the five siblings and, attended St. Joseph’s Primary School which was a Roman Catholic school in Hertford.

He plays guitar a little bit and didgeridoo and, likes all kinds of music but his favorite is classic rock and roll. He often says he would like to be invisible so he could sneak out of detention at school. Like his Harry Potter character Ron Weasley, he has arachnophobia (fear of spiders) . He is quite private about his personal life and, is known for his love of animals, having most recently adopted a pet tortoise named Madeline.

Grint started taking interest right into acting from his school days. When he was in Hertford he took avid interest in theatre and, even joined the Top Hat Stage and Screen School, a local theatre group that casted him as a fish in Noah’s Ark and, as a donkey in another native play. The release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001 proved to be his debut screen performance. He kept performing in the upcoming parts of the Harry Potter series from 2001 to 2010 where his role changed in every possible way. From insecure, hidden behind the shadows character, he started portraying a grey shade character which even he liked doing personally.

Other than working for Harry Potter series, Grint has worked in some non-Harry Potter films namely Thunder pants in 2002 in which Grint played the role of Alan, an anosmic boy who is Patrick’s (played by Bruce Cook) only friend. In 2006 he starred in Driving Lessons opposite Julie Walters, where Grint played the role of an oppressed teenaged boy who was generally praised. Other films that include Grint were: Cherry bomb (2008), Wild Tangent (2010), The Drummer (2012) and many others in the line. In 2011, Grint also did a photoshoot with his friend cum co-star of Harry Potter franchise Tom Felton (known as Lucius Malfoy) in Los Angeles for the autumn/winter collection of the fashion label Band of Outsiders and, took part in the ad campaign Make Mine Milk to promote dairy milk drinking.

Grint bagged the Satellite award under the categories: Outstanding New Talent and, Most Promising New Comer for his splendid role in the first part of Harry Potter franchise titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. He bagged the Otto award for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in 2010. Besides this, he even bagged the award for Mojo in 2014 under the category of Best London Newcomer of the Year.
