Happy Birthday Lara Pulver

Lara Pulver was born on September 1, 1980 in Southend-On-Sea, Essex. Her father is from a Jewish family and her mother converted to Judaism. Her parents separated when she was eleven.

In 1997, she began studying at the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts, graduating in 2000. She has since worked as an actress, singer and dancer in West End musicals. Pulver attended the National Youth Music Theatre between 1994 and 1998, as well as The Liz Burville Dance Centre, Bexley and, went on to gain a BA Honors degree in Theatre.

Lara made her screen debut in 2008, in the BBC prime-time show, Robin Hood (2006), playing Isabella of Gisborne. The show was a huge international success and is airing on BBC America. She just completed filming the new Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon (2008), The Queen (2006)) movie, The Special Relationship (2010), starring Michael Sheen and Dennis Quaid.

In 2008, Pulver recorded a song for the CD Act One — Songs from the Musicals of Alexander S. Bermange and, in 2010, she joined the cast of the third series of True Blood as Sookie Stackhouse’s fairy godmother, Claudine Crane. She played Erin Watts, the new Chief of Section D, in the tenth and final series of BBC spy drama Spooks.

She was also a part of A Scandal in Belgravia, the first episode of the second series of Sherlock as Adler.In 2012, she joined the cast of Da Vinci’s Demons as the seductive and politically-minded Clarice Orsini, a series regular and wife of Lorenzo Medici. Two years later she played the role of Louise in a revival of Gypsy at the Chichester Festival Theatre and, the next year she reprised her role as Erin Watts in the feature film Spooks: The Greater Good.

In 2003, Pulver met American actor Josh Dallas while he was in the UK studying at the Mount-view Academy of Theatre Arts. They got married in 2007 in a 16th-century barn in Devon and, honeymooned in the Maldives. However, 4 years later in 2011, Josh Dallas confirmed their divorce in an interview on Bob Rivers’ radio show. After the divorce with Josh Lara again started dating actor Raza Jaffrey in 2012 and the two were married on December 27th, 2014.

In 2008, she got nominated for Parade and received the Laurence Olivier Award – Best Actress in a Musical and, four years later in 2012, she again got nominated for Sherlock (TV series) – A scandal in Belgravia.
