Cameron Michelle Diaz was born on August 30th, 1972 in San Diego, California. Her mother (Billie Joann) was an import-export agent while her father (Emilio Diaz) worked for a Californian Oil Company Unocal as a foreman. She has an elder sister named Chimene. Diaz grew up in Long Beach and, attended Los Cerritos Elementary School and then, Long Beach Polytechnic High School.

As a child, her friends called her Skeletons because she was tall and had an infectious smile. She got engaged to Benji Madden in 2014 and the bridesmaids at her wedding were her sister Chimene, sister-in-law Nicole Richie, best friend Drew Barrymore and her assistant Jesse Lutz. Diaz broke her nose 4 times and, so underwent a corrective surgery in 2006. She used to be a vegetarian and got alcohol poisoning in Australia at the age of 18.

Diaz began her career as a fashion model at the age of 16 and, contracted with modeling agencies like Elite modeling management, Calvin Klein and, Levis. She also modeled for 2-3 months in Australia and, became a part of short commercial for Coca-Cola in 1991. Despite having any previous acting experience, she still became a part of the movie titled The Mask based on the recommendation of an agent for Elite.

In 2005, Diaz played opposite Tony Collete in the movie titled In Her Shoes which focused on the relationship between two sisters and their grandmother. Next she played the role of Amanda in the movie titled The Holiday which became one of the biggest commercial successes of the year.

Cameron’s parents allowed the then-16-year old to spend five years traveling the world to pursue her modeling career beginning in Japan, where she was accompanied only by a 15-year old fellow model. During her interview on the Actors Studio (1994), she told that she doesn’t read scripts and wishes movies were filmed from start to finish because sometimes she doesn’t understand them. Diaz has publicly revealed that she suffers from ADHD, which prevents her from directing movies.

Diaz played a notable role in many other films like: Shrek the Third, My Sister’s Keeper, The Box, The Green Hornet, What to Expect When You’re Expecting and many other films over the years and, has been nominated in a lot of movies and have also won awards for the movies titled: Any Given Sunday, There’s something about Mary, Vanilla Sky, Bad Teacher and many more.
