Blake Lively Celebrates 27th Birthday
Blake Lively or Blake Ellender Brown was born on August 25th, 1987 in the Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles, California to Ernie Lively (an actor) and his wife Elaine (a talent scout). She has an elder brother named Eric, two half-sisters Lori and, Robyn and, a half-brother Jason. Both of her parents and siblings too are, or have been in the entertainment industry.
During her childhood, her parents took her with them to acting classes that they taught because they did not want to leave her with a babysitter. Lively said that watching her parents teach acting classes helped her learn the “drills” of acting and gain confidence as she got older. She was initially not particularly interested in acting, and wanted to attend Stanford University. During the summer between her junior and senior years of high school, her brother Eric asked his agent to send her on a few auditions over a period of a few months. During her high school days, she was involved in a lot of activities including: cheerleading, choir and, student government and she was also the class president.
Lively began her acting career at a very tender age of just 10, with the movie titled Sandman (1998) that was directed by none other than but, Lively’s father. She also appeared in the film adaptation of the novel of the same name The Sister of the Travelling Pants in 2005. Other than this, she also starred in Accepted (2006) opposite Justin Long., she played the role of Annabelle in the movie Elvis and Annabelle (2006). Annabelle was a bulimic girl who hoped to win a beauty pageant. Her most acclaimed role till date is her supporting role playing the younger version of the title character in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009).She also played the role of Carol Ferris in the superhero film Green Lantern which got released in June 2011. Next year she appeared in the music video for The Lonely Islands’ titled I Just Had Sex along with Jessica Alba.
Other than acting, she describes herself as a foodie and, a cook, and following the suit, she spoke publically of her desire to become a restaurateur in both 2010 and 2011. Two years after in 2013, she filmed a cooking segment for Vogue’s website, demonstrating how to make a brie pastry. Next year in 2014, she launched Preserve, a digital magazine and, e-commerce website with hand-made one-of-a-kind items which were all selected personally by Lively.
She did bagged a lot of awards for her splendid work professionally. She won the Teen Choice Award in 2008 for the movie Gossip Girl, and for the movie Elvis and Annabelle she bagged the award under the category of: Breakthrough Performance. Three years later i.e. in 2011, she again got Teen Choice Award for the movie Green Lantern.
