Alexa Ellesse PenaVega or simply Alexa Vega as many know her is an American actress and, singer born in Miami, Florida on August 27th, 1988. Her father is a Columbian, while her mother, Gina Rue is an American former model. She moved to California with her family when she was four years old. She has two half-sisters named Greylin James and, Margaux Vega and one half-brother named Jet James.
She enjoys freshwater fishing, is a trained gymnast and, can also speak Spanish fluently.
She married film producer Sean Covel on October 10, 2010, but got divorced just two years after that. She again got engaged to Carlos Pena Jr. in 2013 and, married him in 2014.
She is a Christian and, for her faith is the most important thing in life.
Robert Rodriguez bought her a new car so that she can drive her four sisters around and, can put a surfboard on the top. Her favorite actor is Rupert Grint. She has two nicknames as well: Lex and, Alex. She got her first kiss on the sets of Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams with a young stuntman after getting assurances that it was all right.
Other than acting, Vega sang three songs for Spy Kids series. She released her debut single Isle of Dreams that coincided with her second film of the Spy Kids series. Other than Spy Kids, she also recorded songs for Repo! The Genetic Opera. Vega also gave her voice for the song Christmas is the time to say I LOVE YOU for the ABC family film titled Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe.
Vega started her acting career from Twister. Though she did act in some television shows and, films but, she became popular for her role as Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids series. In 2004, she acted in two films titled Sleepover and, State’s Evidence. Next year she played the role of a girl who is a victim of cyber-bullying for Odd Girl Out. She played a lead role in the movie Helix. Other than this, Vega also played important roles in the movies titled: Walkout, Remember the Daze, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Broken Hill, Hairspray and, many more in the coming years.
She bagged 4 awards for her roles in the movies: Spy Kids 2, The Pregnancy Project, Walkout, From Prada to Nada and, got even got nominated for a number of movies like Life’s Work, Sleepover just to name a few.
